This past weekend we had an incredible chance to be a part of the Saint Raymond’s 65th Anniversary Gala. When we were asked to give an estimate for Saint Raymond’s annual fundraising gala, we all jumped at the chance. Now, we get excited when most clients come to us with a request, but this was close to home for us.
John, one of our owners and tech guru, graduated from Saint Raymonds a long 15 years ago. His experience with the school and the parish made him excited to be a part of it. He credits the school for shaping him into the man he is today.
And me? While I’ve never been a parishioner or a student there, the school and the church hold a special place for me as well. My sister began teaching there when I was in 7th grade. As her maid of honor, I watched her marry my brother in law on that altar, I sat teary eyed as Father Bernie baptized my nephew, and stood proudly as the godmother when he baptized my niece. They gave me my first shot at a floral gig some 8 years ago, which lit a spark that has since turned into a raging bonfire. I’ve been an honored guest for my niece and nephew’s “Special Person’s Day.”I’ve watched the school and the church form my family and friends into something quite incredible.
We have been blessed with the ability to donate some of our time and services to such a great cause. The opportunity to contribute our skills and resources is one of the great many reasons that we love this industry. It’s so important for us to remain active in our community, as one of the businesses that thrives from it.
With a winter wonderland theme, we went to town brainstorming icy crystal drops from bare curly willow branches, sparkly crystal overlays, frosty blue uplights, and warm candle light EVERYWHERE. With freshly fallen snow outside the picturesque windows (we’d love to take credit, but sadly we have not yet learned to control the weather) the draped pavilion at the Westin Chicago Northwesttransformed into exactly that; a winter wonderland.
We’d like to thank Saint Raymond’s and Silvana Bonomo, the gala’s coordinator, for inviting us to be a part of such a great event, and giving us the chance to bring their vision to life.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
